PCQG National Jelly Roll Day Challenge

A Jelly Roll Challenge was issued to all members attending the August meeting. There is still time to participate. Just follow these steps:

For this challenge Petunia City Quilt Guild Members are all asked to create a Jelly Roll from your personal stash.  No fair to use a pre-existing jelly roll! Make it your own!

Start by finding an inspiration fabric from your stash or choose a colorway. Then find coordinating fabrics that coordinate with your inspiration fabric or colorway. You will just need 2 ½” by the width of fabric for your strips.  Good time to use up some of those project leftovers😊 You need a total of 40 strips measuring 2 ½ x WOF strips, preferably a mix of lights, mediums and darks. It is OK to mix cottons with batiks for this fun scrappy project. Think scrappy, stash busting.

Bring your stash curated Jelly Roll to the September 14, 2026 regular meeting and we will exchange them with everyone attending.  There will be several free Jelly Roll patterns to choose from at our September meeting as well.

Each participant will take home a new-to-you Jelly Roll to use to sew on National Jelly Roll Day, Saturday, September 19, 2026. Add your own background if needed for your chosen pattern. It would be great to see your creations at the October or November regular meetings.

Join the fun and curate your own Jelly Roll in time for our September meeting!
