September Program

PETUNIA CITY QUILT GUILD / EDITOur scheduled speaker didn’t show up for our September meeting so the wonderful program chair had brought along supplies and notes she had from taking an online class a few years ago by Cindy Walter. The book by her on fabric painting looks good and is recommended!

Diana showed us with small pieces of fabrics various ways to use just a sponge brush and some Dy-Na-Flo paints to make lovely fabrics with an unending range of patterns, ideas, and colors!

Table salt sprinkled on the wet dye, then allowed to air dry!

The door is wide open here!!

I hope some will try this and bring their projects or fabrics in to show us! It is still nice outside for a few weeks,so you could keep any mess outside. I did think Diana’s idea, via Cindy Walter, for working on freezer paper was a great idea! I will probably iron my fabric to the paper to keep it in one place while I apply the paint.

So soon after she had painted and shared information with us, the fabrics were already showing their final results and looking lovely! What an amazing evening of sharing, discussion, and Diana’s quick ability to give a great program on the fly!

We had a great evening!
